Google has introduced a helpful update for Android users of the Gmail app. In the latest version of the Gmail app for Android, users can now delete multiple emails more easily. They can select up to 50 emails at once with just a single click.
This new feature, initially reported by 9to5Google, is currently available for users with Gmail Android version 2023.08.20.561750975. It’s currently accessible for Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel smartphone users running Android 13 or 14, and it’s expected to become available on many more devices in the near future.
The ‘Select All’ feature in the Gmail Android app allows users to quickly check the first 50 emails in their inbox. If needed, users can also uncheck specific emails individually. This feature has long been available on the desktop version and has now made its way to the Android app.
For users with a free Google account, which comes with a 15 GB storage limit, this feature is especially useful. Emails, like photos and videos, take up space in this storage quota. When it gets full, Gmail may have trouble displaying or downloading new emails. Deleting older emails can help users free up space to make room for new ones.
Google has recently stopped providing unlimited storage for Google Photos. This means users who store their photos and videos on Google Photos may use up their 15 GB data limit more quickly.
